- Manor Sharovka, Kenig Palace
The Shidlovskikh manor is located 30 km from Kharkov in the village of Stariy Merchik. The estate was erected at the end of the 18th century, in 1776-1778, and at that time was the center of social life - here, which is so characteristic of that historical period, there was entertainment that was popular at that time - balls and dinner parties.
On the estate there is also a dilapidated, but still existing cellar, which was used as a refrigerator for storing food and as a storage for alcoholic beverages of that time. After wandering around the estate for a moment you begin to think about the life that prevailed here several centuries ago, you can imagine the people who walked these paths, who lived in this estate, which is now a silent witness to those events and the keeper of the eternal secrets of the time.
How to get there!?
- By public transport from Kharkov (metro station Kholodnaya Gora, by bus No. 1650, which runs along the route Kharkov-Stary Merchik from 7:00 in the morning with an interval of 60 minutes, then on foot about 4 km.
- Suburban train Kharkov-Levada - Merchik, Kharkov-Balashovsky - Merchik according to the railway schedule, and then walk to the estate for about 45 minutes.
