- Abandoned S-200 military base, Eshar
Abandoned Kharkov anti-aircraft missile battalion is a remnant of the USSR nuclear shield. It was built in 1973 in the forests of Eskhar as one of the dozen air defenses in Ukraine where the S-200 combat complexes were located during the Cold War. Unfortunately for about 13 years the battalion has been staying abandoned and taken to pieces by locals.
Once being a great place, now this battalion is only visited by some hippy campers as it is even not marked on any map. The battalion is located in the forest behind the Eskhar and is seen only from the space and actually not that good either. So take the GPS coordinates from find-way.com.ua and set off on a journey!
