- The reserve "Stone Tomb" (Kamyana mogila), Myrne
Not far from Melitopol there is an outstanding islet of antiquity: "the Stone grave".
10-14 million years ago there was the bottom of the Sarmatian Sea, and after its disappearance there was a unique formation, which, under the influence of the natural forces, turned into a sandy hill, dotted with strange clumps. Among them there are grottos, passages and other natural voids.

Such miraculous landscapes, which are sharply in contrasts with the surrounding steppes, have always attracted people. Researchers believe that this place was used for religious purposes, as a sanctuary. This is evidenced by the numerous Petroglyphs inflicted in the grottoes from the time of the late Paleolithic period to the Middle Ages.
Nowadays a reserve has been created around. Unfortunately, time gradually destroys ancient writings, and in order to avoid this, all grottoes and passes are canned, access to them is closed. Externally, there are inscriptions, however these have been our contemporaries willing to leave a trace in history. Sometimes it looks barbaric, and sometimes organic. Nearby there is a museum in which information about research, photos and imprints of petroglyphs is collected.
You should definitely climb the rocks, sit in their shadows, look into the gorges. Many go here to charge with energy, considering the stone grave a place of strength.
How to get there!?
To get to the reserve from Melitopol take a bus from the bus station # 2 (Central Market), which runs along the route "Melitopol-Myrne". Schedule: 8.20 (to the Stone Grave), 9.00, 10.00, 11.00, 11.50, 12.30, 13.10, 13.50, 14.30, 15.10, 15.50, 17.00, 17.30 (schedule may change). From Myrne to the reserve it`s only 20 minutes on foot.
