Gurkalo is an incredibly beautiful waterfall in the Ukrainian Carpathians.

Popularly, this waterfall is also called the Ukrainian Niagara, because it, like the American, is divided into two parts. It is located in the Skole Beskydy National Nature Park. It is more than five meters high and reaches a depth of two. It got its name from the spring floods - that's when the water streams and roar from the mountain Parashka with cold crystal water. From this waterfall also originates another, slightly smaller.

There are many lawns near Gurkalo where you can set up tents and spend time outdoors with friends. There is also a table with benches. Firewood is also freely available, because the forest is nearby, so you can also light a fire. It is dangerous to approach the waterfall, but for the brave the locals made a trail, and in 2019 the boys and girls from the national scout organization Plast, installed railings there for the convenience and safety of tourists.

How to get there?
You can get to the waterfall during descending from Mount Parashka or directly from the village of Korchyn. It is desirable not to get by car, because you can get stuck in the swamp. However, it will be more useful for your health to walk through forests and fields, and even to conquer Mount Parashka.
