Krasnokutsky dendropark

Golden years of the Krasnokutskiy dendropark were at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries when, with the efforts of Karazins’ descendants, flora of the park included 540 species of ornamental and more than a thousand of fruit plant. First half of the XX century was not easy for the dendropark, and its restoration was engaged only in 1957. Nowadays more than 300 species of rare plants are present in the park. This variety includes Japanese pagoda tree, cork oak, ship firs, sycamores, white spruces.

Dendropark will be interesting not only for the botany lovers. The unique park area is also ideal for leisurely strolls with friends, loved ones or the whole family in any time of the year. You can find picturesque ponds, among which the swan lake with a miniature island and forged arch bridge stands out, park sculptures, underground passages, ancient fortifications, and different gazebos there.

You can get to the Krasnokutskiy dendropark from Kharkiv by bus «Kharkiv – Krasnokutsk», which departs from Autostation #2 (near Central market metro station). The duration of the trip will be about 2.5 hours. Entrance to the park is within walking distance from the bus stop. Entrance to the territory is free or free donation, only the services of a guide are subject to payment.
