The name adds special resonance: the park honours Illia Repin, Chuhuiv’s most famous son. A walk here is not only about nature — it’s about touching the city’s artistic history.

History: the city and the artist

Chuhuiv is an old Slobozhanshchyna town inseparably linked in many minds to Illia Repin: he was born here and his memorial estate-museum still stands here. The artist knew and loved the hillside above the Donets — this very landscape of river and sky is often recognised in his pastoral motifs.

The park named in his honour became a natural extension of that memory: a place where the view that inspired the master meets the city’s gratitude to its greatest son. Today a «SkyPark» zip-line of around 720 metres running along the river has been added for thrill-seekers.

By car: about 40 km south-east of Kharkiv. The park is on Staronikol’ska Street, on the hillside above the river.

Public transport: trains and buses run from Kharkiv to Chuhuiv; from there walk or take local transport.
