For decades it was one of the leading psychiatric care institutions in the region, serving residents from across Donetsk oblast.

Sloviansk itself keeps living despite everything: according to the city military administration, around 50,000 people remain, including nearly 5,000 children and teenagers. The city plants flowers, repairs damaged buildings, and believes that «everything will be Ukraine».
