Zhytomyr Museum of Cosmonautics was opened in 1991 on the basis of the house-museum of academician Korolev, where unique documents, photographs and things of the scientist are kept to this day, and since the beginning of the nineties - also monuments of the history of astronautics.
Among the exhibits are a container for placing scientific instruments on geophysical rockets, liquid-propellant rocket engines, steering chambers of rocket engines, a lunar rover, space suits and other equipment that will surprise and necessarily interest both children and adults. In addition, the museum presents an exhibition of animals that have been in space; satellites of the Earth; prominent cosmonauts, mini-copies of the rockets on which Leonid Kadenyuk, German Titov, Yuri Gagarin flew.
Since the summer of 2018, a robot assistant guide appeared in the museum, who can dance, perform physical exercises, and he also learns Ukrainian. Therefore, the museum plans to introduce a special service - an excursion with a robot, which, according to the staff of the museum, will be the highlight of the establishment.
