Kochubey Palace was very rich and beautiful for that time. The length of the estate was about 500 meters and a guest house was built separately. There was also a brewery and stables on the premises. Kochubey was very fond of horses and had elite Arab racehorses. In the family, it was an obligation to ride a horse. Who have seen Kochubey's original estate said that he was so rich that each room was a separate masterpiece. The estate was destroyed after the constant wars that began in 1919. In Soviet times, the estate was finally plundered by peasants.

Kochubeya also had a huge collection of stones. The peasants, without understanding them, simply left them scattered throughout the territory. After a while, a descendant of the Kochubey family, Alexander, came to the estate and found about 16 stones, which he had taken to France and St. Petersburg.

The estate was destroyed in 1924. There are several versions:
- children were playing in the library and accidentally lit a library with candles. Subsequently, it was discovered that the arson was in several places, so from one library such a fire couldn’t be;
- the peasants who hated the Kochubey family set fire to their estates;
- The Kochubei themselves set fire to the estate so that no one could own it.

The bricks from which the estate was built were so strong that they were used in the construction of the Palace of Culture in Dikanka. Today, in its original form, only the cellar and part of the stables remained. The direct heirs of the Kochubey family now are living in Australia and Switzerland. The family was very conscientious, the confirmation is that when someone in the village Dikanka got married, they wanted to receive blessings from Kochubeys.

Mykola Gogol was very fond of these places and often visited Kochubeys house. There is a historical moment when he took advantage of the situation, as about Kochubey Dykanka already heard in St. Petersburg. In order to make his work "Evenings on a farmstead near Dikanka " well known, he calls it so that people are interested, thus telling about places and Kochubey. Kochubey and his wife, Elena, didn’t like feasts a lot, though even Alexander I was staying in Dykanka.

There is also a legend that when they robbed Kochubey's palace, they saw a huge picture of the emperor. When they began to cut and destroy the painting, behind it were hidden the doors behind which was the mosque room.

A city as long as life. The official city length is 126 km.
Kryvyi Rih was founded on April 27, 1775. But historians are trying to find facts that confirm that Kryvyi Rih is much older. Because there were always Cossack settlements.
By one version, the city got its name from the Cossack Rih (in eng. - Horn), who either limped or was blind on the right eye, that’s why he received the nickname Kryvyi (in eng. - Lame).
According to another version, as the city is located at the confluence of rivers Ingulets and Saksagan, and at that time such a place was called the horn. In addition, the river Saksahan wasn’t quiet, the horn was a bit lame, and because of that it was called Kryvyi Rih.
Kryvyi Rih can’t boast of its cultural and historical sightseeing, but the highlight of the city are its industrial sites.
There are 7 industrial wonders in Kryvyi Rih:
- UGOK quarry (panoramic view)
- 9th “ArsUralMetal” Kryvyi Rih, the largest blast furnace in the world at one time
- Iron ore mines, now the deepest mine "Ternovskaya" - 1605 m
- the system of underground falls, the largest falls in Europe. Such technogenic forms of reliefs you will not see in any European country (near the mine Ordzhonikidze and mine Gvardiyska)
- artificial Grand Canyon, where the Ingulets River is sandwiched between left bank and right bank heaps
- Saksagan tunnel, where the Saksagan River was lowered underground, for the development of industrial mining of iron ore
- Open Air Museum of Mining
The city is also home to one of the highest man-made waterfalls - Karachunov Falls. However, it is directly dependent on the discharge of water. It is also the city with the largest concentration of quarries in the world.
