Do you remember the scene from “Alice in Wonderland,” where Alice tastes the “Eat Me” cake and stretches “like the world’s largest spyglass?” Well, l have wonderful news: you can become a giant without jumping into the rabbit hole. Just get to the Hydropark subway station in Kyiv. The world here has inexplicably shrunk, and the tallest buildings can barely reach one’s nose. This is “Ukraine in Miniature” Park, also known as “Kyiv in Miniature.”

Here you can see 48 most famous places of Kyiv and a little bit of Ukraine, just 33 times smaller. It is like a small town with 700 figures of people. By the way, if the figures were alive, their life would not be dull at all. They could attend a few lectures in copies of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University, and then walk around miniature Khreshchatyk and have a snack at the model of Independence Square. They could also visit little cathedrals of Kyiv, such as St. Sophia Cathedral and St. Andrew’s Church. At the weekend, the residents would arrange a photo session in one of Kyiv’s most popular photo zones - on the Pedestrian Bridge, or enjoy the scenery of Dnipro’s equivalent from the other main Kyiv bridges: North, South, and Subway. Moreover, without wasting time on traveling, they could see sights from different Ukrainian regions: Swallow’s Nest, Vorontsov Palace, Odesa Opera House, Kachanivka Palace, St. George’s Cathedral, Chernivtsi University, etc. Even if the residents of the miniature city got bored on 1.8 hectares of land, then thanks to the copies of the railway station and Boryspil airport built here, they could travel to other Ukrainian attractions or visit the miniature museums in Germany, Israel, and the Netherlands. Although there would also be some disadvantages of such a life: in this town, as in its big counterpart, there are annoying traffic jams, only the tinier ones.

Strolling around this park, I can not help but think about the amount of effort that has been put to build this miracle. It is difficult to overestimate the contribution of the 15 masters who have created detailed descriptions of the original buildings, made each of these tiny details, and maintained the museum’s facilities.

For avid travelers, a visit to the park is an ideal chance to look at their favorite sights from another perspective and add new places to their must-visit lists, because among the well-known buildings you can notice sights you have never seen before.

If you are eager to see as much of Kyiv and Ukraine as possible, but you have a lack of time, look for unique and cheap places to visit on holiday or want to commune with nature, this unusual town in the capital of Ukraine is a perfect option for you!
