In the 1980s, a Republican (now National) House of Organ and Chamber Music was opened inside, and a large concert organ was installed. The 2021 Fire

In the early hours of 3 September 2021, a fire broke out and destroyed the priceless organ that had been installed more than forty years earlier. It was a devastating loss for Kyiv’s musical culture. Despite the tragedy, the church-cum-concert-hall continues to function, and the question of restoring the instrument remains an important one.
