The cathedral square, or cathedral square, is the central, and in combination the largest square of the city of Slavyansk. Previously had the name - the area of the October Revolution and Bazaar Square.

At the moment, Cathedral Square is the venue for celebrations and educational events with young people.

On the square there is an indoor stage where concerts, shows and speeches are held. In the warm season, there is a fountain on the square. In addition to the usual fountain, at night the splashes of water are highlighted with colorful flowers to the music. Along the perimeter of the square and on some alleys there are benches for the convenience of guests.

On the square there are buildings of the Slavic City Council, the Yubileiny shop, the city’s central library, an office building that houses a large number of government agencies, including the pension fund office and the Labor Exchange, as well as the Temple of the Holy Spirit. On both sides of the House of the City Council are playgrounds with swings and carousels. On the square are the monument of Chernobyl Glory. Also next to the library is a memorial plate, which should be replaced in the future with a monument to the poet Petrenko N.N., who was born in Slavyansk. Earlier, in front of the city council there was a monument to Lenin, who was demolished on June 3, 2015.

In pre-revolutionary times, there was a market on the territory of the current Cathedral Square, and over time, four trading rows were built - Moscow, Slavic, Green and Dvoryansky. In Soviet times, the Slavyansk bus station was located on Sobornaya Square, which was moved after the construction of the bus station. In 1929, for the first time in Ukraine, a balloon was launched from Cathedral Square, in which women took part in the flight.

How to get there!?

From the railway or bus station Slavyanskaya go by trolley or bus number 2 to the stop Pharmacy. Go to the crossroads of Bankova and Shevchenko and turn on the last to the left.

Caution! Part of Donbass is occupied during the military aggression of russian federation against Ukraine!

The armed aggression of russia against Ukraine since 2014 has led to the loss of homes and lives not only of many Ukrainians, but also citizens of other countries and nationalities.

We consider unacceptable and senseless any military actions against any country in the 21st century, but unfortunately the leadership of the russian federation does not think so, and therefore many independent countries, including Moldova, Georgia and our homeland Ukraine, suffer from senseless aggression.

Therefore, until the occupied parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions will be demilitarized and returned to Ukraine, including other territories of independent countries, we STRONGLY RECOMMEND for users of our site do not visit the territories occupied by russia, including the Crimea, this can be dangerous for your life.

For now, our website contains only tourist attractions that are in territories controlled by Ukraine and located far away from the combat zone, therefore, thanks to the Ukrainian Army, the visiting of these place a 100% safe.
