Coordinates: 48.8515501, 37.6056755
Type of place: Religious
Temple of the Holy Spirit. One of the five large temples located in Slavyansk. Located in the city center on Cathedral Square.

Started work in 2007. The temple is located in the southwestern corner of the Cathedral Square, near Central Street. The entrance to the temple looks to the west. The territory of the temple is surrounded by a fence which, in addition to the front gate, there are small side gates. Near the temple there are many trees that hide the building from the turbulent life of the central part of the city. The building of the temple is gently peach in color, and on its back walls there is a bright picture of religious content.

In the 18th century, on the Cathedral Square, there was a wooden Viennese church, which was replaced by the stone Trinity Cathedral, the construction of which was completed in 1840. However, with the arrival of the Soviet Council, the cathedral was closed, the domes were dismantled, and a library, a cinema hall and a gymnasium with a shooting gallery were arranged in the room. With the occupation by the Nazi troops, the work of the council was resumed, but after the city was returned to Soviet rule it was again stopped. By the fiftieth anniversary of Soviet power, the cathedral was completely destroyed.

In 1999 the first stone was laid in the foundation of the new temple. The church houses the remains of thirty-one saints, as well as a copy of the icon of the Mother of God "Burning Bush".

How to get there!?
From the railway or bus station Slavyanskaya go by trolley or bus number 2 to the stop "Pharmacy". Walk to the intersection of st. Bankova and st. Shevchenko and turn on the last left. From the bus station, you can walk along Central Street five blocks.

Caution! Part of Donbass is occupied during the military aggression of russian federation against Ukraine!

The armed aggression of russia against Ukraine since 2014 has led to the loss of homes and lives not only of many Ukrainians, but also citizens of other countries and nationalities.

We consider unacceptable and senseless any military actions against any country in the 21st century, but unfortunately the leadership of the russian federation does not think so, and therefore many independent countries, including Moldova, Georgia and our homeland Ukraine, suffer from senseless aggression.

Therefore, until the occupied parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions will be demilitarized and returned to Ukraine, including other territories of independent countries, we STRONGLY RECOMMEND for users of our site do not visit the territories occupied by russia, including the Crimea, this can be dangerous for your life.

For now, our website contains only tourist attractions that are in territories controlled by Ukraine and located far away from the combat zone, therefore, thanks to the Ukrainian Army, the visiting of these place a 100% safe.
