Azure pool (Cerulean Swimming pool), Pripyat

The abandoned city of Pripyat is always coveted by several hundred and even thousands of tourists from different parts of Ukraine. It often occurs to me: did life there once boil too, people went to work, children went to school, and after school they went in for sports?

 

Of course, the Azure Pool, which was opened in 1970, was one of the most beloved places. He was among the top three sports facilities in the city, where swimming competitions were often held. The main feature of this place is that it was not closed in 1986 after a terrible disaster, like all the other buildings of this city and worked after the Chernobyl accident for another 12 years. The pool served as a resting place for the liquidators of the Chernobyl accident, that is, there was not only electricity, but also water and heat!) Nowadays, the pool is unfortunately abandoned. At its bottom you can find various graffiti made once by teenagers.
